Just because you use insulin doesn't mean you can't be Type 2

Insulin "can be" (or is) used to treat Type 1, Type 2, L.A.D.A., Gestational Diabetes and M.O.D.Y.

Treatment is treatment - Type is related to cause and 1 in 5 Type 2's will need to go on insulin at some point

To "diagnose" Type 1 you have to test positive for two "different" Auto-Immune Genes

To "diagnose" L.A.D.A. (adult Type 1 - Latent Auto-immune Diabetes in Adults) you have to test positive for "one" auto-immune gene

At 65 years old it is beyond unlikely that it's Type 1 - onset is almost always "under age 10", in the "mid teen years" or early 20's at worst

Not impossible but given you were initially diagnosed about 24 years ago, if it was Type 1 you would have likely died in a coma 23 years ago without daily insulin...

I can remeber when I first was diagnosed I had an A1c of 13 I am now at 6.3 keep working everyday at it. If you stumble along the way just reset and get back in to your routine .

I would question your test results. Remember your A1C test over the last 3 months . So going from 13 to 9 in a month is really difficult if not impossible. So I would suggest additional montoribg
