Members shared a wide variety of diabetes-friendly restaurant choices, with chicken fajitas, grilled chicken salads, and Caesar salads emerging as popular go-to meals across different dining spots. Several members offered practical strategies including ordering kids meals or splitting portions in half immediately, substituting fries for salads, requesting lettuce wraps or keto buns instead of regular bread, and choosing grilled proteins like salmon, chicken, or scallops over fried options. A recurring theme was the importance of mindful customization, asking restaurants to accommodate special requests like low-salt preparations or wheat toast substitutions, and staying hydrated with water instead of sugary drinks.

I don’t necessarily have a go to meal, but I try to order a kids meal or just order a regular meal & eat half , bring half home. I try to order chicken, but I do also enjoy fajitas occasionally.

Chicken Caesar Salad with roasted chicken is almost always available or a couple of the major Submarine Sandwich Chains now carry "keto" buns, so another sound option that you can load up with proteins and a few greens for a healthy choice as well
