If you are feeling sick after taking your Metformin,try taking it with food( good idea to do this anyways)
/If you still feel sick maybe your dose needs changing you could try the extended release version of Metformin.
If you really cannot tolerate it,the alternative is a basal insulin,like lantus,basaglar
If you are feeling sick at other times you need to speak to your doc- could be a number of reasons

Stop taking metformin what i did to me once stopped it

I have taken Extended release metformin for several years with no complications. Always take with food
