Hi Deb...oh man, that's a bummer not even the strips?!!!..yeah I've been testing, waking, before and after meals and at bed and at times when I feel funny or after exercise so can be 6-7 a day. I am going to pop for freestyle libra myself later...for me., if I wake up in range, rest of day not so bad, but if am is high...typically gotta test more as I try different things to get it back in range. I backed off one of the meds they had me on that was more trouble than worth...was able to get 20 pts off my glucose average for 3-4 weeks now...all due to testing more, and making adjustments to diet, exercise etc. I saw a few less expensive systems on amazon might try out, but I think the CGM is really the way to go for awhile

3? like what the heck.... 2-3 hardly enough info to make adjustments...yeah if I have high numbers in am, can take 6-7 throughout day... wake, after exercise, before and after meals, when feeling odd. Weird since it has never been an issue in over a decade...so wondering if something new

yeah had doctor before he retired trying to get same for me...but had to get more testing since Kaiser doesn't cover...Deb might try Freestyle Libre see if they'll work with you...if you aren't with Kaiser, for some reason they won't deal with kaiser members. Anyway new doc says only 2x a day 3-4 max but same breath says CGM are game changer.??? Kaiser will only allow 300 strips for 90 days so have to find retail source. am totally baffled. I've explained to several including new doctor, diabetes RN/PHarma doc that there are periods I need to test more to get the info just as I adjust diet, exercise, meds...it's like they've never heard of testing so often...throw more meds at it. Sheesh..close to 30k a year we shell out and strips are an issue???..really is frustrating and wasn't that way until this year. Went to get Freestyle libra CGM on my own, but after they found out was with Kaiser they won't work with me...Kaiser only carrier according to Freestyle that won't cover...KP says oh well, only if you are on insulin and have 3 hypo episodes....real sad what has happened to health care. looks like gotta find better carrier next open enrollment, if such a thing exists. :(

Personally, I think it’s the aging process or death march as I refer to it as…

Heck…I’m supposed to be injecting artificial testosterone. Me?? My body used to manufacture too much testosterone!!

Once you get an auto-immune disease like diabetes-it’s all down hill. How fast you go down the hill is (usually) dictated by you.

wondering if a new ACA, cost cutting rule or something...of course kaiser only carrier that doesn't cover CGM for T2D.
