Metformin is a tricky medication. There are those that can't take it all and others that swear that it is a miracle medication. I used it for a couple of years and I thought it was great and then I began to have explosive diarrhea. When speaking with my doctor, discovered it was the Metformin and now, obviously, it's gone from my med list. Some people have been taking it for years and years and swear by it. It all comes down to what your body will accept. Don't disipair if there are problems with it for you, there are many diabetic medications out there that work and work well with you. Good Luck
