So far there is limited studies but what they have found is that it may help some diabetics
CBD does not in "any direct way" effect your blood sugar
It doesn't help with insulin resistance or production, it doesn't limit sugar release by the liver, it doesn't metabolize more sugar etc
But CBD "likely" works really well as an anti-inflammatory
There is a "theory" that Type 2 might be an "inflammatory" metabolic disorder - it's metabolic for sure but he inflammatory part is still the theory. Because of that "initially" there was a lot of CBD hype which is still floating around
What CBD WILL DO for the Diabetic is "possibly" provide some relief from neuropathy pain/discomfort
Lower levels of stress
Reduce Pain
Provide better Sleep
So IF you are a diabetic that has pain, nerve pain, are stressed and can't sleep well - all of which might be putting upward pressure on your blood sugar, then using CBD to help with those "non-diabetic" conditions, could provide benefit to your blood sugar levels
But there is no straight line from: Take CBD and see improved Blood Sugar
PS - recreational marijuana use has been legal in Canada for just over 5 years now
I "quite often" take advantage of the pre-rolled, government sold, quality controlled "weed" that can be got in (brands) with various THC (the stuff that gets you high) and CBD (the stuff that's supposed to fix you)
And after "extensive self testing" during the past 12 months 😁 I can say that my blood sugar average, if anything has ticked a touch higher than it was all of last year
I didn't have neuropathy or other muscle/nerve pain pre-existing, I honestly am never stressed or upset or anxious so maybe there was just "nothing" in the CBD of any value to "ME"
But it absolutely did nothing to my blood sugar one way or the other in any noticeable way
They talk about THCv oil for us.
Thanks for the heads up about CBD oil. Its seems it might affect mitochondrial function, which plays a role in glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity. I will give this a try too. I have not found too much info about CBD and diabetes so my guess is that it's a long shot but certainly worth trying. Get some that has some THC and it could at least be an enjoyable experience. 🤣
