The answer is Yes and No @A DiabetesTeam Member and all you warriors.
Reversal is rarely if ever achieved.

But Clinical Remission is possible for many. Diabetes is still present, but nondiabetic numbers can be achieved even without diabetes medications.

This supercontrol of numbers is possible, but you have to do the hard work. And you have to do the hard work for the rest of your lives. A lifestyle change that must be maintained.

I have maintained my A1C around the low 5s for the past 2.5 years with no diabetes medications.

A year ago, my doctor told me I was normal, not diabetic anymore.
I have issues with that on 2 levels.

1st I am not normal and never will be. I'm a bit different. As Yogi Bear would say. I am not your average bear. I'm not normal,

How many people do you know that are in better health now than 3 years ago when I was diagnosed with diabetes, A1C 13.5, in February2021.. I was on 13 daily maintenence prescription medications.

I have been on 3 prescription daily medications, plus my albuterol rescue inhaler as needed for the last year. In 2021 I had 99 doctors appointments. In 2022... 9 doctors appointments. In 2023 10.

I will have my only doctors appointment before the end of April on Monday. An oncologist appointment. 5 of my appointments last year were with 3 different oncologists.

1 was my first visit with a foot doctor, who said I have no capilary damage in my feet. That I wave no feeling loss in any of my toes.

My heart is now pumping normally, as normal as a 19 year old, with normal sinus rhythm.

My stage 2 CKD, has healed to normal.
My liver damage has healed to normal.

The severe peripheral neuropathy pain in my feet had reversed 5 months after my diabetes diagnosis.
My severe asthma and COPD have healed to the point that my pulse Ox is always 98-100.

My aggressive malignant cancer is being controlled even 6 years in.
My severe Lyme's disease is controlled to the point, that I have had few symptoms for the last 2 years.

Even my Parkinson's diagnosed almost 30 years ago is controlled, except late at night when I am very tired.
My gout, first diagnosed when I was 19, does not raise it's head.

So I repeat, I am not normal and hope to never be.

2nd, I am diabetic and always will be. If I were not diabetic I could eat half a pizza or a couple bowls of rice and still have normal numbers.

The fact is, if I have more than a 1.5 inch triangle of thin crust pizza my number, shoots up to 12.5(225).
If I have 1.5 tablespoons of rice the same thing happens.

So I repeat, even though I maintain nondiabetic numbers, by supercontrolling what I put in my mouth and by what I don't, I am diabetic and always will be.

I have attained diabetes clinical remission. I have not reversed my diabetes.

Good luck.
Attain diabetes clinical remission, if you can.
Praying for you.

Got to add - I am in better health now than I have been since October 2021.
