When diagnosed with diabetes in February 2021, my A1C was 13.5. 3.5 months later my A1C was 4.9. I have maintained my A1C in the low 5s since.
I have done this all without diabetes medications.
I am in clinical remission. I supercontrol my numbers to 5.3(95) to 7.5(135), both before eating and 2 hour numbers. I severely limit my net carbs to 5 per meal.
Yes, my numbers look nondiabetic, but I am now and ever will be diabetic. I supercontrol my numbers by what I put in my mouth and by what I don't.
If I were not diabetic I could eat half a pizza or a couple of bowls of rice. My numbers would not rocket above what my blood glucose meter could read.
I could eat 8 carbs in a meal and my numbers would not jump to 12.5+(225+).
I have been blessed with some samples of oral diabetes medications from a doctor's office. At some time, I will try some experiments with them.
Most diagnosed with diabetes can handle 100-130 net carbs daily. I am not so blessed. So your diabetes journey should be easier to control than mine.
Good luck in your diabetes journey.
