Losing 40lbs made my A1c drop from 6.2 to 5.9. Metaformin did the rest. Losing another 40lbs feels like climbing mount Everest that is covered in Grease with no climbing equipment.

This wasn't told to me either by the doctors in the emergency room or by the GP. I knew some of it because my mother had diabetes although what was available at that time has changed. I had the brains to research the disease. It is a scary disease but it can be controlled if told the facts. Are the doctors scared to tell a patient or are they uninformed themselves? We can learn how to improve our bodies.
Thank you for posting this and for all you do. Everyone who has diabetes should know this and everyone who doesn't know the information should know too.

I definitely agree with everything you said. Great summary of all the different issues you can have. It is a scary disease but it is up to each one of us to make good choices to keep it under control. Take one day at a time and stay positive.
