I have lost 38 kgs now still on diet but not losing weight

@A DiabetesTeam Member Congratulations on losing the 38 kgs. Everyone says the last pounds are the most difficult. I lost 40 pounds over the past year and need to lose 20 more but am struggling with that last bit. Have you recalculated what your new daily calorie requirement is since you now weigh less? I began eating 1500 calories a day and now only need 1300 to lose weight.

I believe the best diet for a diabetic is a low carb one. The amount of carbs each of us can handle differs. I started our eating fewer than 50grams of carbs daily and gradually increased it to about 130 as I lost weight. Additionally, I've read that any Mediterranean type of diet is best for type 2. And overall, the best approach is to focus on adopting healthier lifestyle habits to last a lifetime, rather than a "weight loss diet" alone. Best wishes to you.
