Ozempic
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone on here take Ozempic or any of the shots similar to it? If so was wondering if anyone saw the commercial on TV about there are lawsuits against the maker of these drugs. I saw several last night. It says it causes severe stomach issues and malnutrition and severe nausea. I take Ozempic so was wondering if anyone heard about this or take it and have had any problems. Thank you for any information you can provide.

Hi, I take it. I have heard of possible side effects, but haven’t heard of the lawsuits. I sometimes feel a bit of nausea, but not often. It has helped lower my blood sugar & I am losing weight slowly, about 1- 1.5 lbs a week. It tends to turn off the hunger noise in my head.

Hi Nana Know I havent heard the latest news yet but it could explain why all their commercials have stopped! I used to take Victoza for 11 years and when my benefits died my doctor gave me Ozempic. I have had nothing but nightmares on other meds but these two have been perfect for me. I have had no issues with either one. I am having trouble getting it because in high doses they are using it for weight loss. My A1Cs have been amazing with it. Hope they dont take it away! Good Luck!

@A DiabetesTeam Member we have to trust our doctors and our own feelings about the medications and I firmly believe that it’s up to us personally to have a good diet and also walking or other exercise daily … however personally I love walking exercise and I am feeling well today and I am enjoying my day . I will be 82 on November 1sth

I thought I had responded to this but do not see it. I have been taking 100mg weekly injection. For over 2 yrs
No complications and I lost a few pounds the first few months. It helped my morning fbs numbers

I guess one of the things it does is turn off your liver when over producing!

I take it once a week 2mg. I have heard rumors but haven't actually seen the commercial for lawsuits. I have lost 43 lbs from taking it but that wasn't my purpose although I am happy for the loss. I have no side affects so far and hope I don't.
