Increased water can decrease daily readings and averages, which in turn can decrease A1C @A DiabetesTeam Member.

Recommended daily water intake is 1/2 to 3/4 ounce water for every pound of body weight if your doctors allow with your other diagnoses. Baby steps.

I look for clear urine and very little foaming upon urination. I personally drink 150-250 ounces of water daily and I tip the scales at 180 pounds. My BMI is 24.8 after dropping 60+ pounds. Baby steps.

So do all you can do for the best diabetic outcomes:
1) Be kind to yourself and others and take your medications as directed, slowly cut your carb loading. Baby steps.
2) Drink enough water daily to be properly hydrated. Baby steps.
3) Cut out all added sugars in food and drink. Baby steps.
4) Cut out all white carbs. Baby steps.
5) Eat to your blood glucose meter, your blood glucose numbers spreadsheet, and your food journal.
Most of my meals look like eggs, stir-fry, soups, salads, or some combination of the above. Baby steps.
6) Eat to TITR daily, time in tight range, 4.0(72) to 7.8(140), since this will arrest diabetic complications and comorbidities right where they are now. Baby steps.
7) Portion control, plate all your food on a 7 inch plate before eating. Baby steps.
8) Be Accountable daily. Baby steps.
9) Exercise if your doctors allow. Baby steps.
10) Get outside and keep active. Baby steps.
11) Walk 10-15 minutes immediately after eating each meal. This will lower the post meal glucose spike. Glucose spikes are the enemy. Baby steps.
12) Get adequate sleep, at least 6-7 hours nightly, 8 is better. Baby steps.
13) Do self care daily and monthly. Baby steps.
14) Help others and enjoy your family. Baby steps.
15) Be the warrior you never knew you were and rise to the challenge every meal, every day. Baby steps.
16) Walk, be active and enjoy life and new adventures on your terms. Baby steps.
17) Live your best life. Baby steps.
18) And never give up, never surrender, never ever. Baby steps.
19) You got this. Baby steps.
20) Have a blessed, wonderful day. Baby steps.
