Natural or Medication?

The gold standard to lower A1C would be insulin, but that may be too drastic depending on how much you need/want to lower it

But diet/exercise, counting carbs will lower A1C

Metformin will lower fasting blood sugar levels (all else being equal) which will put downward pressure on your A1C (although fasting sugars have a great deal less impact on A1C compared to after meal numbers)

Then any of the Tier 2 and Tier 3 anti-diabetic medications - everything from Trulicity to Ozempic to the Sulfonylurea's to Jardiance will/can really whack down your post meal blood sugars which will lower your A1C

If you are prone to UTI's then you really want to avoid the SGLT-2 class which can cause bad UTI's even in those not prone

So Jardiance, Invokana and Farxiga would be the ones to avoid - your Doctor however is in the best place to advise
