Hi @Ruebenels,
1st
I am not a doctor or nurse.
2nd
I read medical and scientific journals and papers from universities around the world every month.
3rd
I'm trying to read between the lines, since you did not lay out your treatments or follow ups for the severe gastric issues. I suspect that you were given antibiotics.

That can destroy your healthy gut biome.

4th
Then you would need to replenish, reseed that gut biome with prebiotics, probiotics, and more.

Personally I do 3 ounces of unflavored, unsweetened plain Greek yogurt with active cultures one day and 2 ounces of plain unsweetened, unflavored kefir with active cultures the next.

I also do a dirt based probiotic for 5 days a month. I also do inulin fiber made from chicory root weekly.

I am a firm believer in proper flora in gut health and its effects on overall health.

Current wisdom is
Most people with Campylobacter infection don't need antibiotics.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention because of
Antibiotic Resistance | Campylobacter | CDC

Azithromycin therapy, a Z pack, would be a primary antibiotic choice for Campylobacter jejeni gastroenteritis when indicated (see Medical Care), with a typical regimen of 5-7 days. Dec 19, 2022

Medscape
Campylobacter Infections Medication: Antibiotics
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a treatment course of 5–7 days with a macrolide such as erythromycin or azithromycin.

I have seen no research of people having reactions like yours. But I will do more digging.

Normally I would say accept the blessing of reduced insulin use. But in your case of no energy, I need more information.

What are your typical meals and quantities of food for 7-10 days.

Are you getting enough fuel to have enough energy to function.

What is your diabetes medication regimen. Do you have other diagnoses that might be the cause.

How is your pulse Ox. How is your heart health. What is your blood pressure.

Work closely with, and discuss these things with yor doctors. They should have some insights.

I wish for you more good days than bad and have many exceptional days too.

And never give up, never surrender, never ever.
You got this.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi @Ruebenels and all you warriors.
My meals usually look like stir-fry, soups, eggs, salads, or some combination of the above.

Meats and fat have no carbs.

Eggs are high protein, very low carb, easy to prepare.

Salads are very low carb, even egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, poke salad, dandelion salad, tomato salad, cucumber salad.

Soups, vegetables and meat, are very low carb.

The trick is to stay away from rice, potatoes, pasta, corn.

I put my stir-fry over a bed of spinach, not the same as rice, but still good.

Most of my vegetables are grown in my own gardens. I also forage in the woods nearby. We have now planted raspberries, blueberries, along with cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, parsley, coriander, peas, carrots, radishes, beans, spinach, lettuces, squash, tomatillos, and more.

What I have done in response to my diabetes diagnosis in February 2021 has improved my overall health. I eat to my meter and practice TITR 4.0(72) to 7.8(140). My actual range is even tighter at 5.7(103) to 7.5(135). I hate hypos and do anything I can to avoid them.

It's not easy, but it is rewarding to eat ultralow carb. I feel much better, my health is better, no brain fog, and my diabetic complications have arrested and even slightly reversed. My heart function is better after 2 operations, My liver function has improved. My kidney function has improved.

I am down from 13 prescription medications daily to 3.

I wish for you more good days than bad and have many exceptional days too. Baby steps.

And never give up, never surrender, never ever.
You got this.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi Hkc in short thank you for your information.
My diet is problematic in what I am able to afford!
Breakfast : either 3 slices of toasted health bread with, (as healthy as I can afford) black cat peanut butter. And a cup of coffee (black-lactose intolarent) or just plain (budget butter20% fat) bread and in-between 2 medium boiled eggs

Or (cheapest) White drinking maize porridge with diabetic sugars, of-late!! far lesser!!
due to a massive high and I fall asleep almost with no control over me wanting to sleep, I then a must!! injection of insulin (4/5)maximum! not a drop more, to prevent the unavoidable drop to a 1.5 / 2 if not.
Lunch a slice of bread or a shake with collagen powder or both.
Supper : option 1 : pork chops(which is the most cheaper meat.) currently!!
With brown rice and a brown onion sauce.
Option 2: A bought chicken burger(flattened chicken breast) budget wise no fries, fries a sure sugar seesaw ride
Option 3 : beef mince or chicken stew and brown rice
That's that! Concerning meals.
A no! no! Frowned on, is chocolate eclair suckers, the only affordable life savers, that do not have such a adverse effect as it it's counterparts, over indulgence leads to me itching from head to toe. ( I surely know the boundaries)
Ps! Being lactose intolerance yogurts are out plus far above. Our budget.
Income currently. Zar R (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators).pm 5 Adults All expenses rent and so forth cannot be covered.
A great opportunity is in the process for the family-us five.
Health
3 major heart failures 6/7 stents most recent 21 and 22 February 2023 the largest current.blockage my Cardiologist managed to open up 65-70%, presently can not do anything further.
I have (conjecture!?) heart disease, so it is a wait and see now.
Will continue later Hkc, battery life is low, and we currently do not have electricity due to the Load shedding our Government needs to do (their failure to Govern properly)
