Hi @ScottGoldli,
The best thing you can do to prevent further vascular damage is TITR, time in tight range, 4.0(72) to 7.8(140). Eat to your meter. This will arrest many of the diabetic complications, right where they are.

Now there are many different things to deal with the pain. Pain killers like gabapentin can help. Topical patches like lidocaine ease the discomfort. My Bride uses gabapentin, Voltaren gel, lidocaine patches.

My Mom swore by Salonpas pads.

Since peripheral neuropathy is caused by circulation problems damages the nerves, anything that can increase circulation can ease the progression.

Lyrica is a medication that helps with peripheral neuropathy.

There are specialists in peripheral neuropathy that can help at times.

Good luck.

When you have specific questions, just ask.

Henry nailed most of it

I would add "diabetic socks or stockings" - essentially a compression sock or stocking (in anything from calf to knee length) will help get blood to the damaged nerves at least in the earlier stages of neuropathy
