How Come My Sugar Goes Up When I Get Up And What Can I Do To Stop That..to Keep It Or Get It Lowered
@A DiabetesTeam Member,
In preparation for the new day our livers dump some glucose into our bloodstream to provide the energy needed. In non diabetics the pancreas secretes enough insulin to keep our numbers somewhat steady.
But our systems are a bit damaged.
The sooner we eat after awakening, the sooner our liver will close the taps releasing glucose.
Even though it seems counterintuitive, earing within 30 minutes of awakening will keep our numbers lower.
Certain medications, like metformin, minimize the morning glucose dump and can be of some use.
Baby steps. I can do baby steps and you can too. I wish for you more good days than bad and have many exceptional days too.
And never give up, never surrender, never ever.
You got this.
Have a wonderful day.

The Jardiance is great at sucking sugar and salt out of the blood
Is it just your fasting numbers that are high?
Are you taking metformin at all? It is the fasting sugar medication and it may help or if all your numbers are a little high perhaps an increase in the Jardiance dose is in order
I was doing well with it but this last couple years I haven't.
I am on jardiance now and trying to figure a way to keep the numbers down.
I know about waking up and your cortisone levels rise cause your awake.
But I am having a hard time trying to keep it down. My A1C was at 10.4 and thats way too high
I am not doing sugar, dairy, bread, rice, potatoes. no junk food at all..well maybe a Diet Coke..but thats the extent... :(
@A DiabetesTeam Member nice to see you back, it has been a while
Are you still following your intermittent fasting regimen?
