Ozempic is in the drug class GLP-1 Agonists
Since you are Canadian many/some of our drug plans up here cover "certain drugs" within a class and not others
As an example, in Ontario the provincial plan does cover Ozempic but not Mounjaro or Trulicity (both of which are essentially the same drug from a different maker)
Generally your Pharmacist can check to see if an alternate drug "would be covered" by your plan and tell you what that is.
In the case of drugs in this class it is almost like a Coke vs Pepsi thing where one will work as effectively as the other so if your plan will cover one of the alternates then a simple switch could save you thousands and work every bit as well
