May I just say MAGNESIUM. It took away my nerve pain. I no longer suffer the pain. I take 250mg or 500mg a day. Try it you can go to Walmart not expensive and just try it.

Unfortunately that is not uncommon

1 in 2 diabetics will experience neuropathy, that is just the statistics

The main reason is because neuropathy develops if your blood sugar is just "ever" a "little" out of control and for every minute you are in the range you are doing damage

Blood sugar over the "quite normal" 7.8 mmols/140 points is all it takes to get the damage started and over the years every time over that number does a little more damage

Think of it like cutting down a tree with a hatchet

Taking a single whack every day won't kill the tree of drop anytime soon

But after years every one of those whacks adds up and in the end, when the tree starts dying it is way, way too late to turn things back

Neuropathy works the same way

Your best hope is to arrest it - that would require never seeing a blood sugar level over 7.8/140 for the rest of your days and I don't think any of us are that disciplined

That is why exceptional control is so important in our early years of the disease

You may simply be left with managing the discomfort with one of the various medications used to treat the nerve pain - there is nothing that can "repair it"
