I have found that my appetite has stabilized since I started eating a low carbohydrate diet. I'm no longer wanting to snack between meals. I stay away from all sugary foods as well as carbohydrates. I nowxeat low carb with adequate amount of protein vegetables and some fruit.
The last look at my CGM stated my percentage time in target over the past 7 days is 94%.
So I'm feeling encouraged to continue on my present diet.
Nothing you can eat will tend lower your numbers but you can choose snacks that won't raise them
Staying away from carbs (sugar and starch) will prevent numbers from rising.
Protein snacks - meat or cheese will not effect blood sugar and lower carb/higher fat snacks like nuts/seeds will cause a minimal rise in your numbers
Drinking water can help lower numbers - the more water in your system the more diluted the blood sugar will be - so not really "getting rid of" the sugar but "spreading it a little thinner" (but it is all still there)
Contrary to conventional wisdom, I have found that for me, eating 1-2 carbs and nothing else as a snack, lowers my blood glucose number by 1.0(18) points within a 3 hour time frame.
I suspect that for my strange system, it stimulates me to produce more insulin, then is needed to process the carbs eaten. That is my sweet spot. You can do controlled experiments like I did to find your sweet spot.
Good luck.
Thanks everyone
