Hi I will like to know what y’all think about Freestyle 2or any other glucose monitor?? I been having my glucose very low so I’m very scared
I have a freestyle Libra 2. I love it and lets me know what my blood sugar is. It wakes me if to high or to low.
The Freestyle and Freestyle 2 systems work very well if you need to constantly monitor your blood sugar.
They take a reading every 15 minutes 24 hours a day, something you could never come close to doing "stick tests".
Do they read identical to a stick test? NO
And a stick test at home does not read the same as a blood draw at a lab because all three methods measure blood sugar in different points along the line.
I use Freestyle off and on and have found that "on average" it is within the error rate of my Meter as far as average goes.
The Freestyle system does however suggest that you continue to use a stick test if you get an "unusually" high or low reading from the sensor.
Because it (freestyle) measures the blood sugar (floating) around your cells and not directly in your blood there can be a bit of a time delay between where your blood sugar actually is at this specific minute and where it "will be" in ten to fifteen minutes from now (the time it takes to migrate to the cells).
The CGM systems are not perfect but they help you manage a thousand times better than you ever could sticking your fingers.
