Anyone Taking Trulicity?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello, Is anyone taking trulicity. Any side effects? I have a prescription for it, but reading about what it could cause has me worried. Also, if you are allergic to it you have a week's worth in your system.

Don't read the side effects of Tylenol or you will suffer through many headaches and sore muscles.

Taking any drug is NEVER a SAFE option. It's a foreign substance, most often some chemical that you are putting un-naturally into your system.

The danger of taking a medication, it's potential side effects must be balanced against the expected benefit.

Trulicity is a Tier 2 diabetes medication.

That means that lifestyle changes and Metformin have not been enough to manage your blood sugar to safe levels.

Diabetes Complications due to consistently high blood sugar WILL KILL YOU both slowly and painfully.

Taking Trulicity "might" cause some side effects and at worst, will be a whole lot better then what the Diabetes would cause.

There is other options to Trulicity that likewise come with a basket load of potential side effects.

Of course, you could always simply opt to take insulin. These Tier 2 and Tier 3 medications with all their side effects are there because Insulin is seen as some boogie-man to be avoided at all cost.

The only side effect to the recumbent forms of human insulin are possible weight gain (if you overeat while taking it).

So there is options or you could just let diabetes have it's way with you..

I take trulicity and have no issues with it. Remember there are side effects with any drug you take but there is also side effects with uncontroled diabetes, damage to internal organs neuropathy, damage to your eyes ect.
