I take one just before my largest meal of the day (about 4 pm which is my 3rd of 4 meals a day and most looks like "supper").

I take it as a combination caplet that contains 1000 mg of ACV and 500 micrograms of Chromium - it is produced in that (recipe) for Diabetes support (by Jamieson Vitamins - at least a popular brand available in Canada).

I did do a lot of stick testing during the first 60 or 90 days when I started the supplement a couple years back to try and gauge effectiveness.

The ACV slows gastric emptying so should "spread out" the uptake of carb and the chromium is supposed to improve insulin resistance (and most T2's are chromium deficient but (they) don't know if it's a chicken or the egg scenario where it's the diabetes that causes the deficiency or if it's the deficiency that helps trigger the disease - no matter - we won't do any harm by supplementing it).

The results were certainly measurable - the exact same meal that I had a good base line on consistently resulted in slightly lower post meal blood sugars - 0.3/0.4 mmol's or 5-7 points "lower" - so not earth shattering in my case, but that's "significant enough" that I have continued to take the supplement once a day.

I could take it more often, but I get it in a bottle of 90 caplets, so once a day makes it a "inexpensive" supplement - $14 worth lasts me 3 months.

I take mine at bedtime. Canโ€™t say for sure if it works or not because Iโ€™ve taken it from the time I was diagnosed but my diabetes is under control without meds so perhaps yes it helps.
