A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been seeing this app advertised on Facebook a lot. Does anyone know about it or is he using it?I look forward to hearing from anybody on the experience with food plan apps.

I tried to have a look at their program.

You answer a bunch of questions and then they email you a "we have a plan for you, just sign up, pay the fee and we will tell you all about it".

I stopped at that point because I want at least an overview of what someone is proposing before they get my credit card number.

I've never bought into the whole "app" thing - still like to keep my own logs (but they are on computer spreadsheet). My father had a collection of dozens of notebooks - his "app" was a pen and paper for the 29 years he dealt with the Beast.

I have the MySugr app which bluetooth's to my meter (which still amazes me a little) 😁 and I could load my carb etc etc in as well but I just can't stand trying to punch in a bunch of information with a couple of fingers into a tiny on screen keyboard when I can type it all into my laptop (maybe because I know how to type at high speed using all my fingers that the 2 finger poke dance on a phone seems like a burden.

I started having mine on a spreadsheet and I have maintained that even though I use apps for creating my recipes for my foods and things like that I do document stuff in there so if my nutritionist wants to look in on it she can but I keep my own records for my own sanity because I haven’t found an app that gives me everything that I need. I was just curious and I appreciate the quick response. Now I can try to block it on Facebook!

Some people on here use my fitness pal. Itbis set up more for weight loss but is easy to use.

There is some app that a few are using on here (name totally escapes me) - I'm sure one of them will see your post and give you the name.

There must a few good ones out there that don't want money from you.

I use fitness pal primarily to find the nutritional value of recipes. I don’t do the paid version though. I have a diabetic journal where I record what I eat, how much, calories , carbs etc. I’m more of a pen and paper kinda of person.
