Does anyone get stinging in their little toes and do you have any numbness in your feet?
Peripheral Neuropathy is common in Diabetics. You can google it for quite a bit of information. WebMD and Mayo Clinic are good sites. Podiatrists treat nerve complications in the feet.
True - about 1 in every 2 Diabetics will experience some degree of peripheral neuropathy and the feet is usually the first place it shows it.
Better sugar control can prevent it from getting worse and as noted, there is a whole raft of treatments to deal with the pain (but not fix it).
