I need ideas for meal planning and snacks. I am h!Ving a hard time with this. From a family who loves pasta am finding it hard to eat
Cheese, nuts, grapes, Apples, oranges. You can put but butters on Apples or crackers ( just pay attention to carbs). Snacking is still the hard part for me. I've eaten so many nuts in the last few years, I should own stock in the company. Rice cakes run about 9 carbs each and taste good with nut butters or cream cheese. For meals impossible pies are a favorite especially in cool weathet. Look them up. Low carb and endless possibilities. I eat a lot of chicken and pork occasionally beef. Salad as I don't like cooked veggies. Stay away from potatoes, white rice, cereal, white bread, flour, sigar, processed foods, juices, sodas etc. If you like it, you probably shouldn't have it. Take care!
I was told popcorn is a great snack or nuts.

I still haven't figured out how to count carbs.
Hi @A DiabetesTeam Member, I am also struggling with meal planning especially where snacks are concerned. I realize they are important to help stabilize your blood sugar levels but what is considered a good snack? I'm not big on fruit but I realize their natural sugars are problematic. Trying to keep low on carbs (so no crackers, etc.) but what's left? Celery sticks? Ugh...
