There are many reason why people get leg swelling, many health conditions can cause this. While it is true that the heat can cause this, it is also good to discuss with your doctor which is what you have done and test were also done to rule out health issues. When you stated meds to make you go, I presume you mean diuretics, which are given for heart disease and for kidney issues. If you are passing less urine it can be because in summer time many people get dehydrated, if this is the fact our bodies try and retain fluid and by gravity it will go to ankles and feet, unless you have kidney disease it is recommended to drink more fluids in summer times especially if heat wave. Another possibility can be that you need your medications adjusted. Either way you seem to have done what you needed to by letting your doctor know, prayers up that the tests might find out what is going on.

1 thing you can do is elevate your legs as often as possible to prevent the fluid from pooling in feet and ankles, summer times do cause this for many people even me, so when they get too swollen, I sit in recliner with legs up, it seems to be worse in summer time indeed. I do this several times a day if need be, some days I do not need to do so either, if I notice my right shoe gets tight that is my cue.

We also lose fluids through breathing, so if someone breathes more rapidly then usual they can lose more fluid, sweating is another cause of fluid loss.

Found this article which might help explain fluid loss and why our bodies retain water
