Had Anyone Had Success With Adding Januvia To Existing Metformin?
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question šŸ’

My husband was diagnosed several years ago. Had only been on Metformin which kept his numbers under control. Recently his A1C went up to 8.1 Dr has recommended adding 100mg of Januvia once a day. We have a 21 day sample supply. Has anyone had success with adding this drug?

@A DiabetesTeam Member, it depends on what insurance you have. Iā€™m with Ambetter, and my twice daily dose of Janumet, which is Januvia/Metformin combo, costs me $30 a month - my generics are $0.

I take both Januvia & Metoformin for my diabetes and it works out great for me. I have been keeping my levels under 100! But i also stay away from sugar products and stick to a more healthy routine of eating. I was taking invokana but when i read about the lawsuit that people who were taking it had their limbs chopped off, I stopped taking that. I encourage you to read up about the side effects of your medications!!

i was on januvia and metformin. It gave me dry mouth, shortness of breath, constipation but my sugar is a bit high. I'm now on janumet which is a combination of the 2 drugs in one pill. Same reactions tho. My doctor said other medications could have worse side effects!

7ya januvia is very expensive. i took a look at my med costs on the package when i was tsking it. It's about $100 a month's supply. Janumet is also about $100 a month too and that's what I'm taking at present. It's a combo of metformin and januvia together.
