Today at work they gave me my second break early, then had me do some highly physical work. I was quickly exhusted. Then a co-worker yelled at me and I went to pieces. Because I felt I couldn't control myself. After I sat down for a while I felt better. Is this a diabetic reaction?
I am sorry to hear that you had that experience. I don't know with enough certainty to answer your question, Allen, but I do know that highs will leave me feeling lethargic and exhausted and that diabetes can have a big impact on emotions and responses.
I hope that things improve for you.
Yes, it’s related. Diabetes is physical and emotional. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, and it’s scary. And it’s so misunderstood, which is frustrating! I’m sorry this happened to you. No one should yell at you, even if you didn’t have diabetes. Try to carry some almonds or other protein to help keep you sugars from dipping too low when you do something physical. Just a few almonds before and after should help.
I worked very hard today closing up my pool for the winter. it is really hard work cause you have to put up a sand filter which is real heavy and all its pipe lines. then clean the pool. My sugar goes up to about 200 when I work that hard.and this is on a ampty belly. this evening I went into the kitchen and all most fainted and become very dizziy. my husband came in and help me to sit down.I had to sit there for a little while for it to pass. this has happen a few times when I am working outside. it was a 101 degrees here in South Carolina yesterday and thats when it hits me the most. It was 78 degrees today and I still got light headed. this only started after I found out I have dfiabetes.
It’s all related. The newness of finding out you have diabetes then dealing with it while you try to do what you did before just isn’t the same. Learn to adapt
