Does Weight Loss Decrease Neuropathy?

i have neuropathy in my limbs. my wife keeps telling me if I loose weight the neuropathy will stop.
however i have slowly been shedding those pounds but the pain is still there.
does loosing weight decrease neuropathy? or is that a myth? any experience?

I went from 240 three years ago to 165 now it didn't help at all

I suspect it's a myth. I don't have a weight problem, yet peripheral neuropathy crippled my foot. It's the nerves that are the problem. They don't put on or lose weight!

weight loss does help when you factor in other issues such as blood pressure, cholesterol level, heart issues.

I have an eye specialist because of my Diabetes.

Can they try another medication? I don't have an answer to your question, but I would think that once the nerves have been damaged it would be very hard for them recover.
