I've been on a form of Keto since May. Down 40 pounds and stopped taking insulin around Christmas. I don't try to get into ketosis w2hich is the goal of keto but I cook keto and watch all my carbs. 45 per meal or less plus 1 15 carb snack. Ok 2 sometimes lol!
but any of these diets where they totally take out carbs are not healthy.
You don't take out all carbs, veggies have carbs, cream , milk , protein can.Desserts with almond flour instead of white flour=carbs
Never felt better, losing weight, eating lots of saturated fats, most of my carbs come from leafy greens, protein from eggs and meat. Combined with intermittent fasting, everything is going in the right direction. Cholesterol numbers are good, blood pressure is good, A1C is down from 10.4 to 7. The diet takes some getting use to, but after 8 months, I cannot see myself going back to the high carb diets that they recommend and have participated in my whole life. The hardest thing is getting over the notion that being on a high (good) fat diet will clog your arteries and kill you. DietDoctor.com has lots of good into. Find a doctor who will consider keeping you as a patient if you go on this diet. Its important to monitor your progress to make sure it works in a positive way for you.
I didn't find it hard at all. There are a lot of good food you can eat on a Keto diet.Have a look, its not for everyone but it is sustainable IMHO.
