Robert, I was dxd at 62 with a n A1c of 12.2. With insulin and later, bydureon, lifestyle changes ( big dietary changes), I was able to get into the 5s. Now I'm off my meds and my A1c came back at 6.4. Hoping to stay in that range for a while. It isn't unreasonable, but it does take time and work. Your body needs to readjust as your numbers get lower. That's why you feel a little nauseous. Hang in there. You CAN do it.

The recommended b.s.levels are based on "faulty" data. They are an Average b.s.l. of a sample of people. I feel better with a little higher b.s.l. too. Stay strong and know that you are not the only one. The swollen lip sounds more like an allergy. I sometimes get it from a cup or the plastic on water bottles;but, I am not allergic to the bottle just whatever is on it.

Not that I've heard of. Perhaps an allergy? I'm allergic to raspberries and it always starts on 1 side and gradually spreads to the other.

Thanks. I was taking one of my meds. that go along with another to help decrease the b.s.g. every other day because I felt they gave me a slight stomach ache. I started taking them each day with the other with a reasonable meal. I believe I'll see positive results as I stick to making some changes & laying off certain foods.

My b.s.g. is high but getting it down to what the doctor recommends is near impossible. For one thing aging contributes. I feel satisfied when I get my b.s.g. down to around 140. If it's too low, I feel nauseous & don't feel like doing much.
As far as the lip goes, it swelled up a little on the left top part for a few hours & was gone the next day over a month ago. Recently a few days ago the bottom right did it for like 4 hours & then gone. If it occurs again, I'll check with my doctor.
