insulin resistance
One small helping of the wonder fried potato will make you miserable as well as shoot that glucose much higher than a gummy bear. In my case it is. 😁
Most of the low carb bread they sell here(KS) in the Supermarkets tastes like crap and these low carb(high dollar) bagels I ordered from this Royo Company are not much bettter but the bread from them… read more

Carbs between 100-125 per day (split up among meals and snacks)
If you opt for keto, the carb count will be closer to 0 carbs
Do not eat carbs after 6pm (it affects your overnight/morning numbers)

with on the go meals that he can take in his truck
He has a microwave in the truck. Low sugar and low carb recipes are best as his sugar levels are out of control.
I get that I can not totally deny him carbs and sweets they have to be in… read more
He also needs to take some responsibility for his own health. You can help but you are his partner, not his mum or doctor.
I've always been a sugar junkie, but had to stop after diagnosis. Sugar free popsicles and jello just doesn't cut it. If you have any favorites you make or if you can lead me to some, I'd be oh so grateful. Thanks so much, Jen
I am eating a small portion dark chocolate as a treat instead of regular chocolate. It helps with my chocolate cravings and has less sugar.
I hear that from many.
Weight can be one of the single biggest factors in the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes.
Being overweight, defined as having a BMI over 25 (all kinds of on-line calculators to figure your BMI by plugging in your current weight and your height with some also considering age).
It has been proven again and again in Type 2 studies that if you can get and keep your weight below a BMI of 25 that you will improve both your insulin resistance or your ability to produce insulin in… read more

There has been a number of discussions "how many carbs is enough, too much etc".
A low carb diet can help (or totally) manage your blood sugars.
Low Carb is not a standard definition but most agree that it's 150 net carbs a day or less.
Two large Diabetes Remission studies determined that if you want to achieve remission (A1C under 5.5) "without meds" then 130 net carbs/day seems to be the maximum.
If often mention the Atkins diets - they have been doing it for years, have great research etc… read more
Very helpful - thanks!’
I just want to know what would be a good breakfast to have I have only been diagnosed like a few days and I have been eating muesli with plain unsweetened yogurt with some fruit, like strawberry Apple and banana...
Start by cutting back.If currently having three fruits at same time go down to one.Have low sugar muesli ( better is porridge, Weetabix, bran flakes.) Check sugar content of yogurt.
I lowered my carbs to 30 grams a day last year. As my health improved, I began slowly adding healthy carbs back in and I currently eat 130 grams daily. However, I am currently still in the prediabetic range (low, I think), instead of the highest prediabetic range and still have more weight to lose. Did I raise my carbs prematurely and would it lower my fbg specifically, if I were to lower my daily carbs back down some? And is this a "which came first, the chicken or the egg", kind of question?
@A DiabetesTeam Member I suspect your right. I want treating my own pre-diabetes to be as easy as it was when I treated my diabetic cat years ago: 3 cans of Fancy feast a day (the kitten formula for… read more
