I Now have type 2 Diabetes, and on oral meds. In The morning my #s are about 130-170, before meds and eating, and in the evening, about 80-100. Not sure what to make of the morning high #s?

I was told some people have highs in morning. even though you are sleeping, your body is still functioning. I have always had high morning bs, even when fasting.

If its really bothering you which I'm sure it is as I am/was? in the same boat. What I've finally found to work for me is a small 5g carb snack before bed, and I wake up with good numbers.Something with fibre and fat. Some are different some that wont work.A good nights sleep always helps numbers as well as exercise(very important)even a half hour walk after dinner can bring down your fasting numbers.

Pancreas provides insulin when your are eating food. Your liver releases stored insulin when you are not eating and you body needs energy. Your liver kicks in over night (possibly due to over night activity) where body is trying to respond to demand. Have your liver functions checked up, possibly there are some issues there.
Metaformin supresses the Liver from leaking/releasing insulin. Glyco x-500 is a herbal product and does a better job than Metaformin and without side effects. Please discuss with your doctor and detox your liver.

What works for me is two or three pieces of cheese and crackers before bed.
