I have gastroparisis and count carbs. I also take glipizide, faexiga and trulicity for sugar control. I aim for 30gm carbs per meal but will go up to 45gm carbs. My last a1c was 6.8 and I average 150 on my sugars daily. I very seldom have low readings. I do find when I am having a flair up that a can of either progesso light or chunky soups are good. Read the labels but most are between 30 and 45 gm carbs for the whole can.
Ask your doctor for carafate it will help the burn
I've just started having heartburn and that hurts I don't know what to do about that
I have to make sure I do not lie down within 2-3 hours after eating. Besides heartburn my gastroparesis flairs up. However, since I have retired and am without the work stress I have had fewer episodes of gastroparesis Stress can cause a lot of problems in the diabetic world.
I don't have trouble with meat. For me I find it is more how much I eat over what I eat. I try to stick with easily digested foods.
