I hae had pereferial nerothropy in feet for 10+ years in feet and around 2 in hands. In the beginning it was like having a sock balled up under the bal of my feet with numbness in toes and a frezzing sensation. Keeping you sugar levels down and steady works seat for control, so it's said. I haunt been so lucky it has spread to my ankles, out side edges of feet, numbness is spreading up calfs, have in both shoulders, stomach and collen. You don't need to get to where I am talk to docs, go every week if you fine new if you have to but don't let slide.

For me it IS a tingling, numbness in my feet. It is not constant but I notice it more when I sit. I am also on Gabapentin but a lot higher dose, there is no more sharp pains but I still feel the tingling, (pins and needles) in my feet.

I think it can have different symptoms for people. For me it was a burning, itching sensation. I could deal with the burn, but the itch was driving me nuts; I would scratch til it bled and it still itched. When I finally mentioned it to my De, she prescribed Gabapentin. Fortunately, I only take a low dose to control (100 mg 3x a day).
