Members shared mixed experiences with Trulicity for diabetes management, with many reporting lower fasting blood sugar and A1C levels but also dealing with side effects like fatigue, nausea, bloating, gas, and digestive issues that ranged from annoying to difficult but often manageable. Several members noted practical benefits including effective appetite suppression, once-weekly dosing convenience, and a manufacturer savings card that reduces the cost to $25 per month for those facing insurance challenges. A recurring theme was the willingness to tolerate uncomfortable side effects in exchange for better blood sugar control, though some members experienced serious complications involving kidney function and eye health that required close monitoring with their medical teams.

I was on Trulicity for about 6 weeks and ended up in ICU as my calcium went too high and I was at about 5% kidney function. The doctors could not come up with any other answer for this happening, so my primary and I figured it must have been a side effect of Trulicity so I am not taking it now and my calcium numbers have been fine.

I have been on trulicity for over a year. It has helped my sugars and since it is a once a week shot I like it.

I've been on Trulicity for 2 months now and have had lots of bloating, gas and burping constantly. I have put up with it because it dropped my A1C down to 7.5 from a 9.0. It curves my appetite and sugar cravings. It has raised my creatine levels and BUN levels so im going to ck with my nephrologist if my kidney is having problems being on this medication.

I took Trulicity for a short time, it made me nauseous, but it worked- Had to stop taking it due to insurance not covering it and it was costing me almost a months pay for it. But it did work.
