I had a similar problem with Victoza. Turns out most drug companies do have a "patient assistance" program available. If you qualify, you can get a reduced cost or even free. I got 5 months of the $800 drug free. Browse over to the drug manufacturer and search on "patient assistance program". If you qualify, its well worth the trouble.
