I Have High Blood Sugars While Having A Sinus Infection
A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been sick with 3 sunus infections in a month and on antibiotics and my blood sugars have been between low 300 and low 400s and my doctor has repeatedly stated that this is because of the infection! I am concerned!

I had this a few weeks back, my GP put me in touch with a Diabetic Nurse who tracked me for a couple of days. He advised me that blood sugars will rise if we are sick or fighting infection. If you keep on track with your food they will come down. This has been an especially hard spring, with flu, sinus, etc. Now fighting an eye infection Will it ever end.

No I am not. My sinuse infection has been over for almost 2weeks now and my blood sugars are around 250 in the morning.

It is true an infection will raise your blood sugars. That is a lot of sinus infections in one month! Once the infection clears, your blood sugars should come down. Do you know why you are having so many sinus infections?
