Ask for trygenta or jordance that is the newest diabetic medicine it brought my blood sugar down.

Go see either your doctor or specialist for internal medicine he or she can prescribe you one more pill that will help lower your blood sugar eg jordance is the one I take

Metformin alone will not keep your sugars down sorry to say. You have to really watch what you eat. Ask you doctor if there is a nutrition class you can take.
