Members responded to someone seeking guidance on foods to control type 2 diabetes with a strong emphasis on reducing carbohydrates to under 100 grams daily and focusing on low glycemic index foods, including green vegetables, lean proteins, and limited fruit. Several members shared that individual responses to foods vary widely, with some finding strawberries and melons safe while others need to avoid higher-sugar fruits like grapes, and many stressed the importance of trial and error to discover what works personally. A recurring theme was encouragement to consult an endocrinologist or dietitian, consider resources like hospital diabetes classes or the Mediterranean diet, and stay patient with the process while monitoring how different foods affect blood sugar levels.

Eating a balanced diet rich in all foods is the best. Was advised the Mediterranean diet is one of the best as it is rich in healthy veggies, lean meats and fruits. Speak with a dietitian and a specialized physician

I eat very little fruit and no juice . Are you going endocrinologist or just a regular GP doctor? If you can't find an endocrinologist and internal doctor. If you have a hospital deer you they may have classes on how to balance your diet.
