Members shared various approaches to managing diabetic neuropathy and chronic pain after someone expressed frustration that gabapentin and amitriptyline weren't working, with many acknowledging these medications' limited effectiveness and significant side effects like feeling like a zombie. Several members offered practical remedies they've personally tried, including drinking tonic water with quinine daily, wearing socks 24/7 to improve circulation, using a Revitive foot machine for electrical muscle stimulation, and taking high doses of Methyl B12 with R-Lipoic Acid to help regenerate nerve sheaths over time. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of living with unrelenting pain, frustration with doctors who dismiss or minimize symptoms, and the importance of advocating for yourself while continuing to search for treatments that actually bring relief.

I used to suffer with pains in my feet,I was told to wear socks 24-7, it keeps thr feet that bit warmer and helps blood circulaton,I now only get slight pain.

That's what the recipe said, I personally haven't tried it but a friend has and gave me the recipe to try, but I can't find the turmeric root. She told me it worked for her, she doesn't live here in the UK. I'll keep looking.

I'm going to the pain clinic on 4th December. They are going to do tests on my nerve and muscle reflexes. My Doctor has given me a revitive foot machine, it is supposed to send electrical impulses to the muscles in the legs and aid the circulation. It seems to work well on my left leg but not the right one. I thought the machine must be faulty but my husband tried it and he said 'oh boy that things not faulty', it shocked his muscles into spasms. He did say his legs felt better relaxed after the initial jolt, he had it up to high for him. I think it's a bit like a tens machine. I'll carry on using it to see if it does improve over time...Chris.
