I have been told by my doctor to count carbs and inject insulin accordingly. Does anyone have a list of carbs and their measures together with the amount of insulin one should take per carbs. Which App can one download to assist with this?
I use mySugr for everything, but I don't use it for insulin. It's free though, so you could check it out.
No chart. All depends if you are on a "sliding scale dose" for insulin. And it really depends what the numbers the dr gave you, if you.
I have 2 sets of numbers, for my dose of insulin - one set, or correction factor is if my bs is higher than a certain # & the other is for amount of carbs. Example if I eat 15g of carbs I already know I take 3 units insulin, most of the time I do the math in my head
check with your doctor. Mine told me the amount to inject for X number of carbs. example 1 unit of insulin for every 10 carbs 30 carbs = 3 units of insulin
There are several books and apps on carb counting. Also several different ways of doing it. Some people do βnetβ carbs and others, like me, do total carbs. Basically, what works for you!!!
Have you checked on line? All I have is a little carb counting book. I don't think it is available because insulin must be given according to blood sugar readings
