Blood Sugar Level Reporting.

A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

In Australia we obviously have a different way of measuring bsl's than other countries. For example, mine at 8.2 this morning, was a little high which is usually is in the morning. Ideal levels are around 6. I see posts from other places where bsl's are reported in the hundreds. Could someone please explain them to me so I can understand where other peoples levels are, and if they are high or low, please.

There was someone on this site posted how too figure out from mmol/L to the USA and other countries. it is simple and I have to thank that gentleman that posted it It goes like if 6.8 X 18 = 122.4 And going the other way 122.4 divide by 18 and get 6.8 mmol/L

25 = 450
30 = 540

To convert to American its simple...

mmol x 18 = american number

american number / 18 = mmol

eg: 90 = 5 ... 10 = 180

Here in Canada usually expressed in nmole. Advice is to maintaining HB1C below 7. I hope this helps.
