Members connected over the worrying question of how low blood sugar affects sleep, sharing personal experiences like waking up sweaty, shaky, or not waking up at all and ending up in the ER. Several members offered practical strategies including eating a protein snack before bed, adjusting nighttime insulin doses carefully, and aiming for a blood sugar above 100 before sleeping. A recurring theme was the importance of knowing your own body, with one member even sharing how a diabetic alert dog helps keep them safe during the night.

Normally, with low sugar at night you will be sweating!

For me I at bedtime I look for a number above 5.7(103 USA). For mee that means I will not have a low overnight. When I'm lower than that I eat a snack.

That is my criteria. Yours might be different, since we are all different and our diabetes journeys are unique.

Praying.
Good luck as you find your way.

Never give up,
Never surrender,
Never ever.
You got this.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi ladies. My Dr. Told me to eat a protein snack before bed. Hopefully that may rid you of low blood sugar.

I experience the same problem and I don't get warning except legs are shaky but I still keep walking and fall. Stupid me. I am afraid to go to sleep at times.
