A DiabetesTeam Member asked a question 💭

New in taken insulin Novomix 30 and taken 14 units twice day. Over the weeks I have been taken extra insulin in order to keep sugars low if I have had desert or chocolate.
If my thinking is right as long as I can my numbers in target it should be fine. However my thinking my not be right as I have found I am not always right in everything.

No I was taught to adjust my food to the illness not adjust the insulin to the food. any reading over 140 does organ damage. Please give this a second thought before eating junk foods. You are important and need to care for yourself. Also the more you eat sugar the more you crave it I understand but have found better substitutes for this like desserts made with truvia or try a few frozen grapes they get very sweet and arent as bad a sugar.

I bet you can't get it out of your mind that is so sad. She has a self destruct button and it is heart breaking for anyone close. All you can do is show her youncare for her and be supportive which younobviously are. It is strange how people will still push us to eat badly. They look at you as though youbarebneurotic when you say we have to be careful. I still get chocolates given to me and tho it is lovely I just have to give them away. You've done your best Mac but you must look after yourself
