Does Anyone Else Have Issues Of Substantial Weight Gain And Belly Bloating Using Lantus For Type 2

I am type one sorry, there was no place to put that. I gained roughly thirty lbs in about six weeks back in 2008 when put on lantus. I wish I had had the brains to get off it immediately. I went from a 34 inch waist I had worked years for to a 38 inch waist and have felt fairly awful ever since. Work out? It was a passion of mine. Although I've lost some of the weight, my waist is still 36 with a bloated looking gut that makes people think I need to diet. Anyone had my situation and weary of the medical profession blowing you off?

I have actually LOST 75 pounds while on insulin by cutting my carbohydrate intake. I have also been taken off 2 orals meds as a result. I limit my carbs to 50 or less total carbs per day. I also normally eat 2 meals per day. Yes, my doctor knows and approves of my eating plan.
