I have on occasions found my BSL higher after drinking tea with sweetners. Some would say cut the sweetners but I can't stand my tea without them.

Members shared mixed perspectives on whether artificial sweeteners raise blood sugar levels, with some reporting personal experiences of elevated readings after certain sweeteners while others emphasized that only carbohydrates technically raise blood sugar. Several members recommended specific alternatives they found helpful, including Stevia, Splenda, raw honey, and Canderel, though some cautioned about potential kidney effects with overuse and others noted the importance of individual testing to find what works best. A recurring theme was the tension between textbook knowledge and personal experience, with many members trusting their own observations and encouraging self-experimentation while acknowledging the complexity of accurate home testing.

Thank you Colin. Of course the sweetners are non carbon but I still feel they do have an effect. I will post back on here should I get some results of my mini testing

I never used sweetener of any kind in tea or coffee, I use honey in place of sugar on other things like cereal
