Is my itchy skin a result of using Lantus?

Been on Latus since late '08 with no problems at all. I like the fact that it has a more controlled period of action which means fewer cases of getting too much and falling into low blood sugar, which is terrifying and very dangerous. I also keep 30/70 on hand for those times I know I will be consuming too much food.

I am on Metformin and on Lantus
I have not had any problems using this
BUT
Every human body on this earth is different
what works for one may not work for someone else

My advice is

get to see the health care professional that is taking care of you and your diabetes and see what he or she thinks

I would not stop using the lantus until you have got advice on this matter.

It is suitable as are other types of insulin, oral drugs and combinations of the two.

I've used Lantus & Apidra together for 13 yrs & never had a problem besides the fact that between them, I was taking 4 doses.
