Looking through a list of Team members I noticed that @A DiabetesTeam Member was diagnosed in 1993 - 29 years ago which certainly makes her one of the extreme veterans.

Have stricter dietary control
I'm confused about the fruit issue. It seems a lot of people are encouraging other diabetics to eat fruit and it just seems to raise my bs. I'm fine when I eat protein, vegetables, and healthy fat, so why not avoid the fruit? Is there a health benefit I'm missing because of the near absence of fruit in my diet? I get the idea of eating fruit when you're having a sweet craving, as surely it's better than sugar, but why not avoid them both?

Yes berries are lower in carbs. Watching your serving size helps too. Fruit does raise bs but it also has nutrients other than vit C and it has fibre which is good for diabetics.
I have seen many post up this concern when they woke up to a high fasting number.
I never, as in never-ever, skip breakfast because of a high fasting number

Because as I have posted many times, Fasting Numbers are the result of sugar released by the Liver when we are not eating for extended periods (sleeping, more than about 5 hours between meals).

I eat a very minimal amt and wait two hours retest
I need advise and help. Was not given any indication by the doctor on how I should proceed and what I need to do now. Was told only to take meds twice a day. No eating plan, what I should avoid or any other information.
Totally stressed out. Have no idea where to now. My blood sugar level at the examination was 12.4 with traces of ketones and blood in urine test. Glucose was 3+ in the urine test
