Ive had hearing loss since I was about 5-6 years old, unrelated my diabetes. I dont know that hearing loss is an effect from diabetes but it could be.

Everyone needs to get hearing tests but since uncontrolled diabetes can damage nerves including the ones in your ear. It wouldn't hurt to have a hearing test. It would also give your doctor a baseline to monitor if you are losing your hearing.
